About & governance.

AL-ZOHRA TRAVEL & TOURS (PVT) LTD has managed corporate mobility from Islamabad since 2008, IATA accredited, ISO 9001:2015 certified, SECP incorporated, and answerable to procurement committees that read certificates before they read brochures.

01 Company profile

An integrated travel management and corporate aviation house, run as a financial function.

Al Zohra is a Travel Management Company, not a retail travel shop. Our counterparties are procurement directors, finance controllers, airline country managers and mission administrators, people who buy governance, settlement discipline and audited capacity, and who treat the ticket itself as the least interesting part of the transaction.

The company was incorporated in Islamabad in 2008 and is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan as a private limited company under the Companies Act. It holds IATA accreditation under the GoStandard programme, is certified to ISO 9001:2015, and is licensed by the Department of Tourist Services as a travel and tour operator. Its overseas employment division holds an Overseas Employment Promoter licence issued by the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment. Each of those statements carries a number, and every number on this page is published so that it can be checked against the issuing body rather than taken on trust.

The business runs on three declared revenue lines. Airline distribution, BSP ticketing, Passenger Sales Agent and General Sales Agent representation, and chartered flight operations, is the largest. Corporate hospitality, MICE and ground services form the second. Visa facilitation and immigration consultancy, anchored by official drop-box appointments from three diplomatic missions, form the third. All three settle through one ledger, and the consolidated transacted value across them is published further down this page.

Operationally the house sits on a multi-GDS core, Sabre, Amadeus and Travelport, with direct NDC API integration for rich airline content and unbundled ancillaries, and a proprietary SQL enterprise ERP mid-office engine that carries live transaction tracking, instant invoicing and automated tax synchronisation across FBR, PRA and SRB. Spend analytics reach the client’s finance team monthly or quarterly, in Excel and PDF, in the format that team already reconciles against.

Around that core sit fourteen service lines, from a policy-checked economy ticket to a wide-body charter, a diplomatic visa lodgement, a chauffeur-driven delegation movement or a manpower mobilisation to the Gulf. A client deals with one account manager, one contract and one invoice regardless of how many of those lines they touch in a given month.

02 Origin

Founded on an unfashionable idea: that travel belongs on the balance sheet.

Mr. Mian Saeed Ahmed Khan founded the company in 2008, a few hundred metres from where it still trades, in Blue Area, the corridor that holds Islamabad’s ministries, corporate head offices and the diplomatic enclave’s administrative traffic. The first customers were the organisations on that street, and the first lesson was that they did not want a travel agent. They wanted someone who would answer at two in the morning, hold a fare until a budget line was released, and produce an invoice their auditors could sign.

IATA accreditation came, and with it a settlement obligation that has never once been missed. That record, unbroken, on time, zero defaults, is the reason airline principals were prepared to hand over territory. Passenger Sales Agent appointments followed with Air Blue, Air SIAL, Serene Air and Fly Jinnah, and authorized preferred agent status with Fly Dubai, Riyadh Air, South Air, Salam Air, Flyadeal and Flynas.

Charter operations grew out of the same balance sheet: thirty-six international charters flown for Saudia, seventeen regional charters with Serene Air, long-haul airlifts to Europe, the United Kingdom and the Middle East during COVID-19, and ongoing pilgrimage flight operations for Pakistan Military forces. Diplomatic missions arrived on a parallel track, the High Commission of Malaysia appointed Al Zohra an accredited drop-box agent in 2013, the Royal Thai Embassy in 2023, and the Embassy of Indonesia authorised the desk thereafter.

Three IATA GoStandard accreditations now sit behind the counter: Al-Zohra Travel & Tours in Islamabad, Go Way Travels and Tours in Lahore, and Global Friends Travel & Tours in Islamabad, each with its own numeric code. Alongside them sit an ISO 9001:2015 quality management certificate, a Department of Tourist Services operator licence, and an Overseas Employment Promoter licence run from the Rawalpindi office. The company that began by selling tickets on Jinnah Avenue now moves crews, cargo, delegations and workforces, and still invoices them all from one ledger.

03 Mission & vision

What we are for, and where we are going.

Two statements, adopted by the board and used as the test for every new service line, technology investment and territory the company takes on.

Mission

To deliver cost-effective corporate travel solutions, and to provide global aviation partners with maximum local market reach, through technology, integrity and operational scale.

In practice that means a policy-checked, lowest-available-fare booking for the client on one side of the desk, and measurable territory revenue for the airline principal on the other, from the same team, on the same system, settled through the same guaranteed remittance cycle.

Vision

To be Pakistan’s leading Travel Management Company and GSA partner, recognised globally for financial stability, market leadership and innovative travel technology.

Leadership here is measured in verifiable terms: accreditations that can be checked, settlement records that can be audited, bank guarantee capacity that can be confirmed, and a technology stack that a multinational’s own IT function is willing to integrate with.

05 Governance & compliance

Solvency is a service level.

Airline principals hand over inventory on credit. Corporate clients hand over policy authority. Both are underwritten by the same two things: audited financial standing, and a settlement record with no gaps in it.

A Travel Management Company is a credit business wearing a service business’s clothes. It issues tickets against an airline’s stock before the client has paid, settles with the Billing and Settlement Plan on a fixed calendar whatever the client’s payment cycle looks like, and carries the exposure in between. That exposure is precisely what our financial governance exists to absorb.

Capital reserves are held deliberately above operating requirement, bank guarantee capacity is verified with top-tier commercial banks, and credit lines are maintained rather than arranged in an emergency. Accounts are independently audited each year by recognised Chartered Accounting firms, and tax is synchronised in the mid-office ERP across the Federal Board of Revenue, the Punjab Revenue Authority and the Sindh Revenue Board, so a client’s reconciliation never waits on a manual entry.

  • Verified bank guarantee capacity and standing credit lines with top-tier commercial banks.
  • Unbroken zero-default IATA BSP settlement record across every accredited entity.
  • Annual independent audits by recognised Chartered Accounting firms.
  • Automated FBR, PRA and SRB tax alignment through the in-house enterprise ERP.
  • Strict data privacy protocols covering personal, financial and biometric documents.
  • Zero-tolerance anti-bribery and anti-facilitation policy, applied to staff and suppliers alike.

Zero

BSP settlement defaults

Institutional integrity

Transparent governance, documented internal policy, diplomatic-grade handling of client documentation, and a zero-tolerance stance on bribery and facilitation payments in every market we operate in.

Fiscal solvency & liquidity

Substantial capital reserves, verified bank guarantee capacity and maintained credit lines, the headroom that lets us absorb large ticketing volumes and extend corporate credit without passing exposure to a partner.

Settlement excellence

One hundred per cent on-time IATA BSP settlement with zero defaults on record, annual independent audit, and guaranteed local revenue remittance for the airline principals we represent.

06 Strategic roadmap

From Travel Management Company to distribution platform.

The company is evolving from a traditional TMC into a tech-first global distribution platform. Capital generated by the trading business is reinvested into the stack rather than distributed.

Phase 01 · In production

A distribution core, already live

Multi-GDS connectivity across Sabre, Amadeus and Travelport for lowest-fare search and failover uptime, direct NDC API integration for rich airline content and unbundled ancillaries, and a proprietary SQL enterprise ERP carrying live transaction tracking, instant invoicing and automated tax synchronisation. This is running today, not promised.

Phase 02 · Under investment

Artificial intelligence in the mid-office

Investment is directed at predictive fare analytics that anticipate rather than report price movement, smart booking assistants that resolve routine corporate requests without a human touch, and automated ERP reconciliation that closes the accounting loop on high-volume transactions.

Phase 03 · Planned

Physical expansion into the GCC

Beyond Pakistan, the plan is a physical presence in the Middle East and the Gulf Cooperation Council states, the corridor that already carries the majority of our charter, pilgrimage, workforce mobility and airline representation volume.
